President - Doug Kotrba

Doug and Jean KotrbaGraduate of the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in 1964 with a BS in Mathematics. Commission through the ROTC program there and served the next 20 years in numerous overseas troop assignments Korea, Vietnam and Germany which include a 12 month tour with the 196th Light Infantry Brigade (Sep) in the Republic of Vietnam 1967-8 as well as stateside system development positions. After retirement, he married and started a 12-year career with Vitro Corporation performing Program Management tasks for Army and Navy Technical Contracts. This was followed by 5 years as the Regional Director for US Senator Slade Gorton responsible for handling all matters in So King, Pierce, Kitsap and Thurston Counties , which included 1.2 million constituents. Currently Doug is self employed and serving as the President of the Mt Rainier Chapter of the Military Officer’s Association and the President of the South Sound Ronald Reagan Republican Club. Doug is an active member of the Ft Lewis Chapter of the Association of the United States Army and serves as their representative to the Statewide Veteran’s Legislative Coalition and to the Pierce County Veteran’s Affairs Council. He is also serving as a board member to the Madigan Foundation and the Patriot’s Pride Foundation.

Doug became a co-founder of the South Sound Ronald Reagan Republican Club and served as the 1st VP for Programs from the inception until his election as the Club President. He has been actively involved in many campaigns including serving as Statewide co-chair of Veterans for Mike McGavick in 2006. Doug is married to the former Jean Gebhart of Omaha , NE. They have two grown, married sons and one grandchild. They currently reside in Parkland .

Vice President for Programs - Dick Muri

Dick and Mary Muri
Pierce County Councilmember Dick Muri took office on November 19, 2003 as representative of District 6, serving Lakewood, Steilacoom, DuPont, Roy, McKenna, Fort Lewis, McChord AFB, and the island communities of Anderson, McNeil, and Ketron.

Muri Chairs the Performance Audit Committee, is Vice Chair of the Tacoma Pierce County Health Department Board of Directors, and serves on the following Standing Committees: Community Development, Economic Infrastructure & Development, Emergency Preparedness, and Public Safety & Human Services.

A retired Air Force Lt. Colonel with 22 years military experience, Muri flew the C-141 as a Navigator and served in the Gulf War. From 1992-1997, Muri was Chief of Quality Management for McChord AFB, directing a program that won numerous awards for excellence from the United States Air Force and Washington State.

Treasurer - Connie Lacadie
 
Connie Coleman-Lacadie started her federal career with the Air Force as a local national in Berlin, Germany, in 1972. She returned to the states and went to McChord AFB, WA, in 1981. Her career with the Air Force ranged from secretary with the Aerial Port Squadron to investigative assistant with the Air Force Office of Special Investigation. In 1989, Connie came to the FAA Northwest Mountain Region office as the Division Secretary for the Civil Aviation Security Division. Since coming to the FAA she was the Office Manager in the Human Resources Division.

Connie is very active in her community. She is serving her third 4-year term as a School Board Director, a board member of the Lakewood Sister Cities Association and is lead on the student exchange program for middle school students coming to Lakewood and going to Okinawa City, Japan. She also serves on the Lakewood YMCA Board and is an active member of the Teen Steering committee in developing and marketing programs for their new Teen Center. Connie is married to Michael Lacadie, USAF Ret LTC, who is also active in the community. They have two sons, one daughter, and seven grandchildren.

Communications Director - Leslie Swalley
Leslie Swalley is Council Assistant to PC Councilman Dick Muri. After attending Thunderbird Graduate School in the field of International Business and Chinese, she worked in Taiwan for 10 years as Executive Marketing Officer for the Thailand Trade Office and later as a Consultant / Trainer conducting business programs for multi-national corporations such as AT&T, NIKE, Chinese Petroleum Corporation and China Trust Bank. Swalley also implemented the first English Language program in Taipei public schools and was a well-known local teacher.

Leslie serves as a board member on Partners For Parks and LASA, is a member of Lakewood United and Lakewood Chamber of Commerce. She served for three years as All Aboard Washington Communications Director and is a Past Vice President of the Spokane Music and Arts Festival. You can often find her with an American flag on Freedom Bridge or the DuPont Bridge Brigade Overpass.

Secretary - Syl Wiles:
Syl is a Texas native, attended the University of Texas and now calls Washington home. An Army spouse for 22 years she has a deep commitment to the Armed Forces and all those who serve. Her family was awarded the 2004 AUSA Army Family of the Year and 2002 Fort Lewis Family of the Year. In May 2006 Syl was awarded the Fort Lewis Adult Volunteer of the Year and her youngest son Phillip was the Fort Lewis Youth Volunteer of the Year. Past awards include the Dr Mary Walker Award, Fort Lewis Volunteer of Merit 2001,2002,2003,2004, Fort Bliss Helping Hand Award, and Cubmaster Award.

Syl is the Program Director for the Lakewood Republican Women's Club, VIP Chairperson for the Lakewood Relay for Life,Vice President for Family Programs AUSA and Teacher Appreciation Chair for Lakes High School. Sergeant at Arms - Lee McDowell
Lee retired from a career in Food Sales and Marketing in 2000. He Attended UPS after a tour in the US Marines and serving in Japan and with special forces in Cambodia in the 1950's. Lee married Karen in 1957 and raised two daughters. His oldest daughter passed away in 2002 but left two wonderful grandchildren. 

Lee served on the SSRRR Club BoD for the past two years and has been an active grassroots worker for the Republican Party, working on the campaigns of Slade Gorton, Mike Carroll, Bob Lawrence, Javier Figuroa, Lorna Smith, Mike McGavick and Initiative 512. A former UP PCO in University Place, the McDowells currently reside in Gig Harbor.

Chaplain - Rev. Dr. Francis Jeffery

The Rev. Dr. Francis E. Jeffery, Lutheran Pastor (ELCA), was born in Minneapolis, MN, in 1923. He is a 1949 graduate of St. Olaf College, Northfield, MN; 1952 of Luther Seminary, St. Paul, MN; and 1995 of Faith Lutheran Seminary, Tacoma, WA. During WWII he served with the US Infantry in France. He was commissioned in the USAF in 1952 as a Chaplain and retired in 1975 as a Lt. Col. He has received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, Combat Infantry Badge, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Unit Croix de Guerre, and others. He served in Greenland, France, Spain, Japan, and in the U.S. He and his wife Lin live in Lakewood, WA. Their son Paul died in 1963. Naomi, their daughter, is married to Otto A. Petersen (Maj., USAF, Ret.) They have three grandchildren and twin great-grandchildren. Retirement enables his involvement in military organizations. He is Chaplain Emeritus of the Military Order of the Purple Heart and past Chaplain General of the Military Order of the World Wars. He is active as a Christian counselor and writer.




2nd District Rep - Eddie Hamilton

After graduation in South Carolina Eddie began a military career. Drawn by the beauty and mystic of the Northwest along with wife, Suki, and daughter, Kim, the family has resided in the Graham area of Pierce County since 991. Eddie ministers as a Christian educator with New Life Presbyterian Church and operates a small business. He completed terms as president, vice president and Chaplin of the 2d and 29th District Club. Eddie has served PCRP Platform and Candidate committees as a member, has been involved in several campaigns, a delegate to County and State Republican Conventions and Election Boardworker and PCRP Election Observer Supervisor. Elected to his third term as Precinct Committee Officer he continues to serve God, country and families of the 2nd District 26th Precinct

25th District Rep - Wally Nash 

After India Wally returned home to UK and became a professional Product Demonstrator and in 1974 found himself in the USA training US Workers to sell UK Products. He fell in love with the Country and spent 15 years traveling the State and County Fairs  ending up in WashingtonState in 1989 where he remains to this day. It is fair to say that this is the longest he has stayed anywhere. Every time he tries to go further west he keeps getting wet.

 


A firm follower of Maggie Thatcher and a fan of Dear President Reagan
Wally became involved in American politics. He has been active in the Washington State Republican Party since 2007. He was on the Steering Committee of the  I-912  Initiative and ran for State House seat in the 25th District in 2004 and 2006. He failed to win both times but considered it a victory that a humble immigrant could actually run for such a high office. He is now GOP Leader of the 25th District and an active and proud member of the SSRRR Club.  Wally is ecstatically married to Beryl and has three grown children who are saving up to put him in an Old Person’s Home

Beckie Krantz A fourth generation Pierce County resident, Beckie is a an honors graduate of University of Puget Sound Law School. She has served as Director of Development for Annie Wright School, Director of Research for Washington Friends of Higher Education, and as a research intern for the Washington State Supreme Court. Since 1989 she has been CEO of KNS Information Services. Beckie, who is 26th District Leader for the Pierce County Republicans, currently serves on the Peninsula Advisory Commission, the Land Use Advisory Commission for the greater Gig Harbor area. She is a member of the Gig Harbor Chamber of Commerce and serves on the board of the Gig Harbor Republican Women. She is also on the Government Relations Board of the Washington Software Association. In her "spare" time she tutors math at Key Peninsula Middle School and enjoys spending time with her family

Assistant 28th District Rep - Don Anderson
A Northwest native, Don has been a resident of PierceCounty since 1966 and Lakewood since 1988. He has been married for 30 years to Tacoma native Nancy J. Anderson, a Steilacoom school teacher.  They have four daughters.  Don graduated from RogersHigh School in Puyallup.  He holds business and law degrees from the University of Puget Sound.  Don is a member of the Tacoma law firm of Eisenhower & Carlson, where he has practiced since 1981.  From 1978 to the end of 1981, Don served overseas as a U.S. Navy JAG officer.

 

His community involvement includes Tacoma Goodwill Industries Board of Directors (President 2004 and 2005), Tacoma Rotary #8 (Board Member 1998-2000); Official for high school, NCAA and Olympic Trials track meets; Boys’ Track Coach, Pioneer Middle School (2001 and 2002); Reading tutor, Stanley Elementary (1999-2005); Past President of the Puyallup School District Board of Directors; Pierce County Bar Association Pro Bono Attorney of the Month; and Board Member of Communities in Schools of Lakewood.  Also has served as a volunteer firefighter, volunteer legal services attorney, church treasurer, youth sports coach, Paint Tacoma Beautiful and Habitat for Humanity volunteer.

30th District Rep - Dick Hayek
    Dick Hayek has been a resident of Federal Way since 1999 and a PCO in the 30th District since 2000.  He is a Board Member and Youth Services Chair of the Federal Way Noon Kiwanis Club, where he has been a member since 2000.  He has previously served as Co-chair of a Communities in Schools chapter, student mentor and Boy Scout leader in the Highline School District, Secretary of the Southcenter Rotary Club and an adult literacy tutor for the Multiservice Center.  He has been active in several Republican campaigns, beginning with Randy Tate's congressional campaign in 1996.  After completing college and military service, Dick began his career in 1971 as a National Bank Trust Examiner.  Since 1987 he has been a life insurance agent.  In January 2007 he joined the Tacoma Office of New York Life Insurance Company, where he was Rookie of the Year for 2007.  He joined the South Sound Ronald Reagan Republican Club that year to be more involved with Pierce County Republicans.  Dick has a son, Bryan, who is a student at WSU, and a daughter Lisa, who is at Whitworth.

PLU GOP President - Geoff Smock


Geoff Smock has served as President of the
Pacific Lutheran University College Republicans since 2006.  He also served as Youth Chairman of the 28th Legislative District Bush-Cheney '04 Steering Committee.  He grew up in Steilacoom, Washington and graduated from Steilacoom High School in 2005.  He is currently a junior at PLU and studies Political Science, History, and Legal Studies.
This is his first year as the College Republican Representative on the
South Sound Ronald Reagan Republican Club Board of Directors.
